El Oconal Lagoon
El Oconal Lagoon is a favorite destination for Peruvian and foreign visitors who come to discover the wonders of the Oxapampa province.
Oconal is a vast lagoon of 200 hectares. The magnificent view is accompanied by incredible wildlife, including more than 30 species of birds, most notably herons. Its lush flora makes a visit unforgettable.
The El Oconal lagoon is located near the city of Villa Rica and also serves as a "natural spa," thanks to the ichthyotherapy sessions offered by the abundant fish in its waters.
Those who have visited the place say the experience is "exquisite" and express their desire to return to this beautiful spot.
THE LION WATERFALL
El León Waterfall is located on the well-known Coffee Route, a few kilometers from Villa Rica. This natural resource is one of the tourist attractions in the Villa Rica district.
The waterfall has two drops and its name comes from the presence of a rock located at the top of the first waterfall, carved in high relief, where the head of the aforementioned feline can be seen.
THE WITCH WATERFALL
La Bruja Waterfall is located in the Villa Rica district, just 4 km from the city. The waterfall sits at an altitude of 1,552 meters above sea level; the best time to visit is between May and September.
This beautiful waterfall emanates from the Colorado River, which rises from Alto Bocaz Hill. It has a 19-meter drop, making it more of a waterfall than a cataract. As a result, it has a small pool where you can cool off.
